First 3 Scans
Hey Kuhu/ Posto/ Puchka/ Puchki/ Anik/ Anika/ Peanut! By the time you would be reading this, you would have really grown up and I would have given you access to read the blog (since the reading is restricted, you see!). It was on Jan 16, 2020, when Khushboo took the pregnancy test and your presence in her womb made the result positive. While Khushboo was overjoyed screaming from the bathroom loudly, "Nik! It's positive... Nik! It's positive..." I was stunned. I didn't have any untoward thoughts per se but yes, it was going on in my mind that my responsibilities are going to increase manifold. I did become happy by the way. That said, we immediately rushed to meet Dr. Bandana Sodhi who directed us to take a scan. When we went to take the scan, I was completely overwhelmed and unsure. When the initial scan was done, and the doctor described you as a jewel of our wedding ring, I became a bit relaxed.
You know what! When we went to Tara Devi Diagnostics Centre for the second scan, you were not in the appropriate position for the scan to take place. When the doctor placed the scanner on Khushboo's tummy, he exclaimed, 'Oh My God'. Khushboo got worried and asked the doctor on what had happened. The doctor said, "the baby is not in the correct position to be scanned." He advised us to take a walk so that you can do some topsy-turvy thing and be in the right position for scanning. I think that was the first time we properly met each other. I observed your face, limbs etc. and tried to find out if you are going to be Mr Anik or Ms Anika but in vain. Meanwhile, we shifted our house from Pitampura to Saket and it was high time for the 19th-week scan. Covid-19 had already spread its tentacles and we were completely restricted to our flat those days. But we did manage to go to Sitaram Bhartiya Research Institute for the scan.
This scan was comparatively a long one and both of us had to take the complete day off that day. In this scan, the doctors were supposed to observe you from different positions. When I went inside to see the scan, you were lying down cross-legged and your hands were above your head. Technically, this was our 3rd meeting and I once again tried to find out your gender. I hope that you will forgive my gender-sensitivity. That said, I was thrilled that mine and Khushboo's representative is there in flesh. That is all from my side here.
