My heart kind-of melted today when you started weeping while sitting in your school bus. I can't forget the tearful look you gave me when I bid you bye-bye. What happened in the backdrop that it was rather naïve on your part asking me not to touch the front section of your school bag because you wanted to carry your pencil box to your school. We had a lengthy discussion on it where I repeatedly wanted to ask your Ma'am's opinion on carrying pencil box to your school. You knew that she would not allow it. So, when I asked I can ask Kabir, you said, yes he brings his pencil box.
The next morning I asked Khushboo if I should let you carry it. She answered in the negative and I quietly took it out from your school bag and just informed you when you were alighting the bus. I informed you so that you don't search it frantically once you reach your school. But once I informed you, you started weeping. You know, you rarely weep and when you do, my heart melts.
You see, the lesson here is to be ready to confront negative situations. Life is not a bed of roses and no matter how hard you or your parents try, you will not get everything you demand and you need to understand this and learn to cope with it.
Obviously, I have to play the bad cop here. Your Pa or Mumma tricks you by telling you, "Oh Kunnu, the things you put in your cart was left in the auto". I, on the other hand, tell you upright in the supermarket itself that the things you are putting in your cart will not be billed. You can buy only 1 item of your choice. I prefer to keep facts straight and obviously I have to bear the wrath of it. I'm more realistic, you see and I want you to be one too.
